As a wedding photographer in Hamburg: A beautiful one-location Wedding in a barn in Rosengarten

I was very suprised when Klaus and Janike called me for their wedding in Hamburg. A couple of years ago I photographed Klaus’ master degree inauguration. Years later he was looking for a wedding photographer in Hamburg and we connected again.
The wedding of Klaus and Janike was so relaxt and warm that it was almost impossible to absorb the love they spread throughout the day. Getting married when you have kids can sometimes be really challenging. Because the little ones absorb your emotions and stress levels and when they do it can be quite job to get ready, get married AND enjoy your day.
Luckily Janike and Klaus had a really good family who loved to keep the little one entertained and fed and rested while they could enjoy all the aspects of their wedding day.
The wedding was at Rosengarten nearby Hamburg. A wonderful location where you have enough room to get ready, stay over after a party, get married outside or inside in the barn. There is a huge party room with a big open door to the garden with beautiful flowers. In May the wisteria is in full bloom. I admit I went home to buy a wisteria for my own garden after this weekend.
We started before lunchtime with the getting ready and first things first, we had some bubbles in the girls room to celebrate the start of the day. While the boys where finishing up the decorations for the ceremonie outside we were entertained by kids and some delicious Franzbrötchen. These are sweet croissants with cinnamon. Some variation to cinnamon rolls – yummy.
After the getting ready part it was time for the photoshoot. We stayed nearby since it was a beautiful spot and Klaus and Janike wanted to have more family pictures and real moments instead of an extended photoshoot. Their child could nap during or be with his grandmother – so all in all a very relaxed morning before the ceremony could start and the guests arrived.
A ceremony outside in Germany in summer can mean sometimes rain. But we were so lucky for a wedding in may and just enjoyed the great ceremony with music, a very nice priest and great witnesses. The kids even came to toss bring the bride and throw the flowers at the end.
I want to thank Janike and Klaus for trusting me to take some beautiful memories and document their wonderful day. I wish you all the best together and maybe see you next time in Hamburg.

Thank you Martine & Wouter for your big trust, I wish you all the best!
